去る11月20日(米時間)の夜発表されたアメリカン・ミュージック・アウォーズ。なんとその最重賞となる2011年のアーティスト賞をかちとったのは、テイラー・スウィフト。最も売れまくったアデルでもなければ、最もNo.1ヒットを出しまくったケイティー・ペリーでもなければ、最もスポットライトを集めまくったレディー・ガガでもありませんでした。

というわけで、ノミネートされたアクトの成績簿を比べてみると……。まァ、そうなのかもしれませんね。ただし、アデルが英国人じゃなかったら、どうなったか?　アメリカン・ポップ・カントリーのスーパー・アイドルとのそれではそもそも闘いにならなかったと。
